These beautiful woodcarvings depict The Flight to Egypt. Joseph was warned in a dream to flee to Egypt with Mary and the infant Lord Jesus, as the wicked King Herod sought to kill all the infants in Bethlehem under the age of 2 years old. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”
