The Infant Jesus is held by His Virgin Mother. Three angels look on and a sheep is found at the side of the manger. The star beams down on the Promised Child. The fingers on the infant Jesus hand are posed as though he were making the sign of the cross, as a minister would make the sign of the cross over the people. 

An ornate design surrounds the image.

The icon also has earth from Bethlehem encapsulated in the bottom corner, as pictured.
